The Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court is the intermediate appellate court in the state system. NYC is served by two departments: the First Department (Manhattan and Bronx) and the Second Department (Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and several suburban counties). The Appellate Division hears appeals from Supreme Court and other trial courts and also oversees attorney admissions and discipline.
